2014 #5: Assisi Hospice Christmas Light Up 2014

The Assisi Hospice celebrates Christmas with their patients in a big way every year – they hold a grand celebration in which a 30-ft Christmas tree is lit up with some 30,000 bulbs symbolising peace and joy to their patients and their families at the Christmas Light Up event.

This year WindWork added a jazzy feel at the event graced by Mrs Josephine Teo, Senior Minster of State with favourite Christmas pieces like  Jingle Bell Rock and Rocking around the Christmas Tree. It was great spreading Christmas cheer in the way that WindWorkz knows how - getting people to sway, snap their fingers, tap their feet and dance to the beat.

2014 #3: An Evening of Jazz @ Tampines Central Community Club

Tampines Central Community Club has been a strong supporter of the arts and has been home to WindWorkz from this year.

To promote the love of music in the neighbourhood, Tampines Central Community Club hosted An Evening of Jazz where WindWorkz made its debut at the Community Club in a free public performance at its multi-purpose hall.

The 2-hour concert was well-received by the residents of Tampines and lovers of jazz music who were seen to be tapping their feet and swaying to the music. The audience were transported through time and space through pieces like The Girl from Ipanema, Brasilia, Oye Como Va, Quando Quando Quando, Rock Around the Clock, What a Wonderful World and Route 66.

After the last piece Can't Take My Eyes Off You, the audience gave a round of rousing applause and shouted for an encore. WindWorkz obliged with a second rendition of jazz classic Just a Closer Walk . Then, with satisfied looks and broad smiles on their faces as they left the multi-purpose hall,  the audience indicated that they would like to see more of WindWorkz in the neighbourhood.

2014 #1: "Light It Up Blue" Roadshow, ION Orchard

April 2nd was officially declared as World Autism Awareness Day in December 2007 and this week is World Autism Awareness Week 2014 culminating with a "Light It Up Blue" Roadshow at ION Orchard.

Check out the highlights here.

WindWorkz joined many other supporters in blue in doing what we do best - bringing cheer through our brand of music. We wanted to be part of the cause of  bringing more attention to autism, a brain-based difference in development and to seek acceptance for people with autism who relate to the world differently.

It was truly great seeing the kids with autism and their supporters spontaneously burst into a dance and jive to our music just as the skies gradually darkened and the building magically turned blue.
