2019 #9: Central@Clarke Quay

What do chestnuts have to do with Christmas?
Well, The Chrismas Song begins with the words "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire" and it brings to mind the warmth and cheer of Christmas.

Christmas is the Season of Love and the bright cheery strains of familiar Christmas favourites filled the air right next to the River Promenade, at the entrance of Central@Clarke Quay. WindWorkz added festive cheer to the cool evening and crowds gathered, sang along and swayed to our big band music.

2019 #6: MWS "All Jazzed Up" Charity Ball

WindWorkz had the wonderful opportunity to start the evening at the Methodist Welfare Services' Charity Ball with a rousing "Come  Fly with Me" and embarked on a flight to Jazzland with those who came.

The very meaningful evening at The Ritz-Carlton was graced by the Minister for Health, Mr Gan Kim Yong. The guests who were present responded to the call to raise funds for  the 20 MWS centres and critical programmes that work passionately to alleviate poverty and help those who could be struggling to make ends meet or struggling to overcome fractured relationships, chronic illnesses, and social isolation.

While the guests wined and dined, WindWorkz entertained with other jazzy tunes like "Cheek to Cheek", "What a Wonderful World", "Beyond the Sea" and "Fly Me to the Moon" and had a blast doing what we love best, performing for a good cause.

2019 #5: Big Band Gatsby Nite

The Katong New Vogue Dance Club celebrated its 5th Anniversary in style. The dancers came dressed up a la Gatsby style all ready to dance the sequences they have been learning: Alpine Stroll, Midnight Jive, Tango Serida, Swing Waltz, Christiana Cha Cha, Balmoral Blue etc.

Lim Biow Chuan, the advisor to the Mountbatten Grassroots Organisation, commented that Katong CC looked like a ballroom setting as the dancers gathered on the dance floor and gracefully sashayed to music like House of Bamboo, Beyond the Sea, Ye Lai Xiang, Wonderful Copenhagen, Moon River, Cheek to Cheek performed by WindWorkz

The excitement was high in the air as the dancers found it novel and exhilarating to dance to 'live' big band music, probably a first in Singapore.
