The Katong New Vogue Dance Club celebrated its 5th Anniversary in style. The dancers came dressed up a la Gatsby style all ready to dance the sequences they have been learning: Alpine Stroll, Midnight Jive, Tango Serida, Swing Waltz, Christiana Cha Cha, Balmoral Blue etc.
Lim Biow Chuan, the advisor to the Mountbatten Grassroots Organisation, commented that Katong CC looked like a ballroom setting as the dancers gathered on the dance floor and gracefully sashayed to music like House of Bamboo, Beyond the Sea, Ye Lai Xiang, Wonderful Copenhagen, Moon River, Cheek to Cheek performed by WindWorkz.
The excitement was high in the air as the dancers found it novel and exhilarating to dance to 'live' big band music, probably a first in Singapore.
