Venue: Tanah Merah Country Club
Another golf charity - this time with YMCA, whom we've often collaborated with.
As usual, we did our best to keep the golfers who had a long day on the greens for charity entertained.
The Guest of Honour, Mr S. Dhanabalan, Chairman, Temasek Holdings, commented at the opening of his address that he was most appreciative of the live big band music he heard us perform. We were most delighted to hear that. Alas, we were unable to play two of his favourite pieces, In the Mood and Chattanooga Choo Choo. Till we meet again the next time, Sir...

2009 #3: Inspire '09 - Gifts from the Heart
Venue: The Republic Cultural Centre
Inspire is a student-initiated project aimed at raising awareness and funds for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.
"Gifts from the Heart" is a Gala concert that features "a smorgasbord of different genres ranging from dance, theatre, classical music to pop and rock". "All those involved have but one goal in mind - to touch the hearts of all those who are present and to touch the hearts of the children who are in need... to offer A GIFT FROM THE HEART" (Chan Chi Ling, Inspire '09 Concerts Committee Overall I/C).
WindWorkz performed with gusto Rock Around The Clock, Mack the Knife, Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White, Jericho and Crocodile Rock to an appreciative audience who cheered heartily. WindWorkz also accompanied Cantate Domino on their jazzy rendition of Swingin' Sweet Chariot, an instrumental arrangement commissioned specially for this concert. Lastly, WindWorkz collaborated with the Lindy Hop Ensemble as they danced to the catchy live tune of Jumpin' at the Woodside.

2009 #2: Singapore Heart Foundation Golf Charity
Venue: Laguna Country Club
The Singapore Heart Foundation was set up to create awareness about heart patients and their needs and to educate the public about heart disease and its management.
Windworkz was pleased to be invited to provide dinner music at the Singapore Heart Foundation's golf charity event at the Laguna Country Club and the band had the pleasure of entertaining the golfers who played for a worthy cause during the day.
Amongst the golfers were Mediacorp artistes such as Zheng Geping, Hong Huifang and Chen Tianwen. They told us they enjoyed our music and were most happy to pose for a photo with us. It was a starry night...

2009 #1: Bible Society Fundraising Dinner

Venue: Meritus Mandarin Hotel
Windworkz was invited to be part of the Bible Society's Fundraising Dinner again this year and as part of the publicity for the event, we were featured on the Bible Society website.
It was the debut performance of our gospel big band repertoire such as Crown Him with Many Crowns, God of Glory and God of Grace and Jericho. We played with gusto and truly enjoyed ourselves, playing for such a worthy cause again.
If anyone who reads this would like to support the fundraising efforts of the Bible Society Singapore in aid of the new Bible House, please contact them directly.

2nd Anniversary Dinner
We celebrated WindWorkz' second anniversary with a seafood dinner at the Labrador Seafood Restaurant.
We were so memerised by the view of the Labrador Park and the delicious food that a group photo was not taken. However, a photo of our youngest member was captured at the park itself. :)

2008 #7: Big Band Night: A Swinging Christmas

Venue: YMCA Orchard Auditorium
WindWorkz ended the year with a bang with a Big Band Night, an inaugural event mooted by the YMCA.
The audience were welcomed to well-decorated tables in the cosy YMCA auditorium. Drinks and snacks were also served to the finger-snapping and toe-tapping crowd who bought tickets for the event.
We played a mix of christmas pieces and some groovy jazzy pieces and some of them were enticed to the dance floor and had a swinging time.
It was really fun - what a way to end the year!
