2014: Guess who dropped by on May 12?

Last month, we were privileged to welcome Mr Benny Prasad to Singapore and to our humble practice venue. He played for us, "Shout to The Lord", which he performed at the 2004 Greece Olympics.

Benny Prasad is a self-taught guitarist from India. He designed the World's First Bongo Guitar, the Bentar. He also holds the World Record for being the fastest man ever to visit all 245 countries in the world. He did it in 8 years!

2014 #1: "Light It Up Blue" Roadshow, ION Orchard

April 2nd was officially declared as World Autism Awareness Day in December 2007 and this week is World Autism Awareness Week 2014 culminating with a "Light It Up Blue" Roadshow at ION Orchard.

Check out the highlights here.

WindWorkz joined many other supporters in blue in doing what we do best - bringing cheer through our brand of music. We wanted to be part of the cause of  bringing more attention to autism, a brain-based difference in development and to seek acceptance for people with autism who relate to the world differently.

It was truly great seeing the kids with autism and their supporters spontaneously burst into a dance and jive to our music just as the skies gradually darkened and the building magically turned blue.

2014: Gift from WindWorkz to Ellen Thoburn Cowen Memorial Hospital, India

The Ellen Thoburn Cowen Memorial Hospital in Kolar, India was established in 1910 by American missionaries. Dr Jesu Krupa has recently joined the hospital and has been sharing about the urgent needs of the Cardiology Department. When he was in Singapore again in March, WindWorkz presented him with a gift for the work of the hospital.

2013 #6: MSF Thanksgiving

The Methodist Schools' Foundation celebrated its 15th Anniversary with a Thanksgiving Dinner at the SICC. WindWorkz joined them in celebration with its own brand of jazzed-up gospel music. It was great seeing people tapping their toes, snapping their fingers, clapping to the beat and lastly, gracing the dance floor to the beat of the music.

2013 #5: YMCA Proms @ the Park

WindWorkz once again participated in the YMCA Proms @ the Park playing their hearts to the many beneficiaries of various voluntary welfare organisations and their volunteers. It was truly heartwarming to see them enjoying the music and swaying to the beat. Simply put... it was a blast!

2013 #4: Instruments of Worship

WindWorkz collaborated with Cantate Domino and put up a Methodist Welfare Society Charity Concert in aid of Bethany Methodist Nursing Home at the Mrs Lee Choon Guan Concert Hall. WindWorkz performed gospel favourites jazzed up in the big band style and had the audience and Cantate Domino singing along while they played the final communal singing pieces "How Great Thou Art" and "My Tribute".
